Laura began working with Dr. Maro at the Ellwood Animal Hospital in 2003. She is one of a handful of staff members that we have hired on the spot, because she was such a wonderful fit for our team.
Laura epitomizes calm under pressure.
Her skillset and knowledge base continue to grow, and she handles everything from assisting with surgery, anesthesia monitoring, diagnostic testing and x-rays to working closely with integrative patient care and oncology.
Growing up on a dairy farm, I have worked with animals from a very young age. I have always had an interest in medicine and almost pursued the human side of nursing, before deciding that working with animals was my passion.
Over the years of working at the Ellwood Animal Hospital, I have become particularly interested holistic/integrated medicine. Working in such a diverse practice and seeing how different modalities such as chiropractic care, acupuncture, massage therapy, nutrition, and so much more can change a pet’s life direction has been very rewarding.
I currently do not have any pets of my own, but have many extended furry family members. When not working, I love to spend time with my family and friends. I enjoy reading, walking, volunteering, and watching my children at their sporting events.
